There is no single Cape Cod beach pass.

Each town sets its own parking rules, prices, eligible beaches, and purchase process. Some beaches accept daily payment at the entrance. Others require a sticker purchased before you arrive. A beach managed by the Cape Cod National Seashore follows a separate federal system, even when it sits next to a town-managed beach.

The best rule is simple:

Plan around the specific beach you want to visit, not only the town where you are staying.

Prices, staffing dates, and payment methods can change during the season. Use the official town links below before leaving for the beach, especially around holidays.

Before You Buy a Beach Pass

First, consider how long you are staying.

For a one-day or weekend visit, paying at the beach entrance is often the easiest option. You do not need to wait for a sticker or complete an application ahead of time.

For a week-long stay, compare the weekly price against the daily rate. However, check the processing time before ordering. Some towns issue digital passes immediately, while others mail a physical sticker or ask you to pick it up. A pass that takes one or two weeks to arrive will not help with a last-minute trip.

Also check which beaches the pass covers. A town’s visitor pass may work at its larger public beaches but not at smaller resident-only beaches.

Barnstable

Barnstable has six public beach areas where non-residents can use daily, weekly, or seasonal parking:

For 2026, daily parking is generally $30 at the public saltwater beaches and $15 at Hathaway’s Pond.

A non-resident weekly permit costs $110 and is valid for seven consecutive days. A seasonal non-resident permit costs $375.

The weekly permit is only useful when it arrives before your beach visit. Barnstable advises allowing approximately 12 to 14 business days for processing. For a short stay or a last-minute booking, paying the daily fee at a staffed beach entrance is usually easier.

The weekly and seasonal visitor permits do not provide access to every beach in Barnstable. Smaller beaches and ponds, including Millway Beach and several village beaches, require a resident, taxpayer, or landlord permit.

Sandy Neck accepts qualifying Barnstable and Sandwich resident permits. Regular parking access does not allow you to drive on the beach. Oversand driving requires a separate Sandy Neck ORV permit.

Yarmouth

Visitors can pay for parking at Yarmouth’s public beaches or purchase a weekly or seasonal non-resident pass.

For 2026, the published rates are:

Dennis has many public beach parking areas on both the north and south sides of town.

For 2026:

Weekly visitor sticker: $100

Daily passes are sold at staffed public beach parking areas and are credit-card only.

Some larger beach lots may restrict daily-pass sales on July 4 or other very busy dates. On those days, the town may admit only vehicles with resident, weekly, or seasonal stickers.

Harwich visitor stickers can be purchased through the town’s beach sticker system. A visitor sticker is the safest option when you want access to several Harwich beaches during your stay.

Daily admission is more limited than weekly or seasonal sticker access. Do not assume that every Harwich beach can sell you a day pass when you arrive.

Traditionally, daily parking has been available at selected locations such as:

Other beaches may require a sticker before you arrive. For example, arriving at Bank Street Beach without a valid sticker may leave you without a same-day purchase option.

Sandwich

Sandwich offers daily and weekly parking at its staffed bay beach gatehouses.

For 2026:

Daily parking: $20
Weekly pass: $50
Seasonal non-resident sticker: $105

Daily and weekly passes are sold at participating beach gatehouses, generally from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Participating ocean and bay beach areas include:

Town Neck Beach
Sandwich Boardwalk and Mill Creek
East Sandwich Beach
First Beach

The $105 non-resident seasonal sticker covers Sandwich saltwater beaches and Oak Crest Cove. It does not include Sandy Neck, Snake Pond, or Wakeby Lake at Ryder Conservation.

Peter’s Pond access may be available through the Oak Crest Cove gatehouse. Snake Pond and Wakeby Lake have separate resident-only restrictions.

Sandy Neck is located in Barnstable and uses Barnstable’s parking system. A Sandwich visitor pass does not automatically include Sandy Neck.

Chatham

Chatham offers daily, weekly, and seasonal visitor passes for its three main gated beaches:

Passes can be purchased through Chatham’s online portal or at the staffed entrances to Harding’s, Ridgevale, and Cockle Cove. The town accepts cash, cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay at the gates.

Online daily and weekly passes may be printed or shown on a phone. That makes Chatham’s weekly pass a practical option even for guests who did not order far in advance.

Several Chatham beaches have free parking and do not require a beach sticker, although their lots may be small:

Schoolhouse Pond is not part of the visitor-pass system and requires a resident or non-resident taxpayer sticker.

Eastham

Eastham has town-managed bay beaches and freshwater ponds, plus ocean beaches managed by the Cape Cod National Seashore. The two systems do not share passes.

Daily town parking is available at only four locations:

The 2026 daily fee is $30 per vehicle, paid by cash or check. Credit cards and Venmo are not accepted for the daily pass.

All other Eastham town beach and pond parking areas require an Eastham visitor or taxpayer sticker. A daily pass purchased at one of the four public locations does not give you access to the sticker-only lots.

Eastham’s visitor stickers include one-week, two-week, and seasonal options. Before ordering, check whether the town will mail the sticker or require pickup and allow enough time before your trip.

Coast Guard Beach and Nauset Light Beach are not Eastham town beaches. They are managed by the Cape Cod National Seashore and require a federal entrance pass when fees are being collected.

Wellfleet

Wellfleet town beaches and the Cape Cod National Seashore use separate parking systems.

A Wellfleet town visitor sticker provides access to eligible town-managed ocean, bay, and freshwater beach parking areas. Visitor options normally include short-term and weekly stickers, but prices can change each season. Check the town’s official beach page for current 2026 prices before purchasing.

Do not confuse Wellfleet town beaches with Marconi Beach. Marconi is managed by the National Park Service and requires a National Seashore entrance pass during fee-collection periods.

Some Wellfleet beach areas may have separate walk-in rules, limited parking, shuttle systems, or access restrictions. These can change because of weather, erosion, staffing, and shorebird protection.

Truro

Truro has one of the more restrictive town beach systems on Cape Cod, but visitors can buy their own passes.

For 2026, visitor sticker prices are:

One week: $120
Two weeks: $175
Three weeks: $200
Four weeks: $250
Seasonal: $375

Daily parking is available at only two Truro town locations:

Corn Hill Beach: $35
The town-managed lot at Head of the Meadow: $35

Other Truro town beaches require a valid town sticker.

Visitors applying for a sticker need a vehicle registration and proof of their stay in Truro, such as a lease or booking confirmation. The rental property may also need to comply with Truro’s short-term-rental requirements.

Head of the Meadow can be confusing because the town and the National Park Service operate separate parking areas near the same beach. A payment or sticker for one parking area does not necessarily work at the other.

Provincetown

Provincetown’s two major ocean beaches are:

Race Point Beach
Herring Cove Beach

Both are managed by the Cape Cod National Seashore. You do not need a separate Provincetown town beach sticker for these two beaches.

When federal fees are being collected, use a Cape Cod National Seashore daily or annual pass, or an accepted America the Beautiful pass.

Six major beaches across the Outer Cape use the same federal entrance-pass system:

A single Cape Cod National Seashore annual pass covers all six beaches for the current fee-collection season.

Current federal prices include:

Cape Cod National Seashore annual pass: $60

The National Seashore does not accept cash. Beach fee booths accept credit or debit cards.

The $60 Cape Cod National Seashore annual pass is sold at beach entrances while fees are being collected. It is not sold at the Salt Pond or Province Lands visitor centers.

The America the Beautiful Annual Pass is another option. For a U.S. resident, it costs $80 and covers standard entrance fees at federal recreation sites across the country, including the six National Seashore beaches.

You can buy a digital America the Beautiful Pass through Recreation.gov and use it immediately. A physical pass ordered by mail can take up to three weeks to arrive, and an order receipt cannot be used in place of the physical pass.

This makes the digital version the best choice for a last-minute trip when you also expect to visit other national parks during the next 12 months.

Town Passes and Federal Passes Are Not Interchangeable

A National Seashore pass does not work at town-managed beaches.

For example:

It does not cover First Encounter Beach in Eastham.
It does not cover Wellfleet town beaches.
It does not cover Corn Hill Beach in Truro.
It does not cover Craigville Beach in Barnstable.

The reverse is also true. A town beach sticker does not automatically provide access to National Seashore beaches.

The beach itself may appear continuous, but the parking lots can be managed by different governments with different fees.

The Best Option for Most Vacation-Rental Guests

For a stay of one to three beach days, paying the daily fee at the entrance is usually the simplest choice.

For a week-long stay, a weekly pass may save money, but only when:

It covers the beaches you plan to use.
It can be issued before your visit.
You expect to use it enough times to recover the cost.

For last-minute stays, look for towns that issue digital passes or sell weekly passes at the beach. Avoid relying on a mailed sticker unless the town confirms it will arrive in time.

For an Outer Cape trip, compare the $60 Cape Cod National Seashore annual pass with the $25 daily vehicle fee. The annual pass pays for itself after the third paid vehicle entry.

Final Advice

Choose your beaches before buying a pass.

Check the official town or National Park Service page again shortly before your visit. Beach access can change because of staffing, parking capacity, erosion, storms, water-quality advisories, and protected shorebirds.

A little planning can prevent you from reaching a beach with the wrong sticker, the wrong payment method, or no way to park.
