How owner payments work
At Capehost.ai, we keep payments simple and transparent.
Monthly Invoicing
During the first week of each month after money movement activity in the previous month, we’ll send you an invoice with:
- All bookings from the previous month
- Our management fee
- Any reimbursable expenses (like cleanings)
- A summary of the net payout to you
We use ACH for all payments, handled through our automated accounting system.
How Payouts Work
In most cases, Capehost is the host on all platforms, and we receive all booking payouts directly. Each month, we deduct our fee and any covered expenses, and transfer the remaining amount to your account.
If, in any month, expenses exceed earnings (rare), the invoice will show a balance due.
Taxes
- For Airbnb, all required state and local taxes are automatically collected and remitted.
- For VRBO and other platforms (including direct bookings), we pass the full tax amount to you (no commission), and you are responsible for remitting it to the state and town.
We never charge commission on cleaning fees or taxes. Every January, we send you a 1099 formwith the total amount paid out, including passed-through taxes.
What if You’re the Host?
In the cases where you’re set as the host and Capehost is a cohost (usually on Airbnb), payouts go directly to your account. In those cases, we invoice you each month for our share.
